China and African countries have kept good economic and trade relations in recent years, and the Chinese government encourages entrepreneurs to invest in Africa, said Chinese Vice-Premier Qian Qichen in Xiamen, seaside city of Fujian Province Saturday.
Qian made the remark in meeting with a ministerial-level delegation of African economic officials attending the Sixth China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT).
With traditional friendly relations between the two sides, China and African countries have given mutual support to each other in fight against imperialism and colonialism, Qian said, adding the consolidation of such friendly cooperation is a fundamental guideline of China's foreign policy.
He hoped the CIFIT will become an important occasion for promoting understanding and cooperation between Chinese and African entrepreneurs.
On behalf of the delegation, Mohammed Daramy, minister of Development and Economy Planning of Sierra Leone, said Africa and China enjoy a long history of friendship.
The continued development of friendly cooperation between the two sides in recent years not only serves fundamental interests of the peoples, but also contributes to the regional and global stability and prosperity, he said.
