Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said Wednesday that Ethiopia is willing and ready to draw valuable lessons from China's rapid economic development.
Meles made the remark in Addis Ababa in a meeting with the visiting Chinese Construction Minister Wang Guangtao who arrived here on Aug. 10 for a four-day official visit to Ethiopia.
Meles noted Ethiopia was desirous to prop up its bilateral relations with China in every sector of cooperation, adding the existing Ethio-Chinese political as well as socio-economic cooperation was at an encouraging stage.
Wang Guangtao said China was keenly interested in stepping up its bilateral relations with Ethiopia.
During the four-day visit, the Chinese minister held a series of talks respectively with senior Ethiopian government officials including Infrastructure Minister Kassu Ilala and Foreign minister Seyoum Mesfin.
Wang attended the ground-breaking ceremony of building a hydroelectric dam in northern part of Ethiopia, a 224 million US dollars project constructed by China National Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering Corporation.
The Chinese minister left here on Wednesday for South Africa after concluding his visit to Ethiopia.
