Togolese President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbe on Monday spoke highly of the cooperative and friendly ties between China and Togo.
He made the remarks during talks with Wang Jiarui, visiting head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.
The Togolese people have been benefited a lot from the friendship and reciprocal cooperation between the two countries, which was established by late leaders of the two countries, said the president.
Vowing to adhere to the one-China policy, he said Togo treasures such ties and is willing to make joint efforts with China to boost their friendship and cooperation.
Faure expressed his appreciation toward China's achievement in the reform and opening-up led by the CPC, noting the friendship between the CPC and Togo's ruling Rally of the Togolese People will promote the ties between the two countries.
Wang, meanwhile, said both the Chinese government and the CPC have attached great importance to the relations with Togo, which have witnessed a significant development boosted by the new generation of leadership of the two countries.
He said China is willing to join hands with Togo to boost the friendly cooperation in all fields and make fresh contributions to the construction of the new type of China-Africa strategic partnership.
Wang is leading a CPC delegation for a three-day visit to Togo, the first leg of their three-nation Africa tour, which will also take them to the Republic of the Congo and Cameroon.
