A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Tuesday met with a delegation of the Mauritian Socialist Militant Movement (SMM) and called for closer party-to-party relations.
Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, said in his meeting with SMM chairman Georges Lesjongard that the CPC is willing to further enhance friendly communication and cooperation with Mauritian political parties including the SMM and jointly push forward the China-Mauritius relations.
Wang also briefed the guests with the present situation across the Taiwan Straits and the Chinese mainland's policies towards Taiwan authorities.
Lesjongard said the SMM will firmly stick to the one-China policy, and he hopes the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games a big success.
He also underscored the party-to-party relations, saying it has played a significant role in promoting bilateral ties and development of the two countries.
