Nepal's Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala met in Kathmandu on Tuesday with Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China's (CPC) Central Committee.
During their meeting, the prime minister hailed ties with China, saying China always offers support and help whenever Nepal requires it.
He expressed his hope that the ties between the two countries could be further consolidated and developed.
For his part, Wang said China-Nepal ties have undergone the test of time and changing international situations and become a good example of friendly relationships between countries with different social systems.
He said China appreciates the support and understanding from the Nepali side on the issues of Tibet and Taiwan, adding that China will uphold its policy of developing mutually beneficial cooperation with Nepal.
At the invitation of Nepal's interim government, Wang arrived in the country for a visit with a CPC delegation on Nov. 30.
During his stay in Nepal, he also met the country's foreign minister, leaders of the ruling Nepali Congress Party and representatives of other political parties.
