Baradei announces progress in Iran-IAEA cooperation
Adjust font size:

Visiting IAEA chief Mohamed el Baradei said in Buenos Aires on Thursday that cooperation between Iran and IAEA has made progress, calling for collective efforts of international community to solve the nuclear issue in Iran.

However, differences still existed among the parties involved and the United States and the European Union also adopted different stances, he said.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will study proposals from all parties and find the best way to break down the deadlock, he added.

El Baradei said he had briefed Argentine President Nestor Kirchner on latest progress over Iran during talks with him on Wednesday. Kirchner pledged supports for efforts by the UN unclear watchdog in solving the problem, he added.

Talking about the on-going Middle East peace talks in the United States, El Baradei said peace in Middle East was only feasible through fair and just negotiations.

El Baradei arrived here on Wednesday for a visit.
