Visiting Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao proposed four priority areas for cooperation with Singapore Monday evening.
-- First, the two countries should launch flagship projects in bilateral business cooperation.
-- Second, the two sides should jointly promote the building of a bilateral free trade area (FTA).
-- Third, the two countries should provide better services to facilitate business cooperation.
-- Fourth, the two countries should expand cooperation in services.
Wen made the proposals at a dinner hosted by the Singapore-China Friendship Association and Singaporean Business Community.
Wen arrived in Singapore Sunday afternoon for a two-day official visit to the country at the invitation of Lee Hsien Loong.
It is the first visit by a Chinese premier to Singapore in eight years.
After the visit, Wen will attend the 11th ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) plus Three (China, Japan and South Korea) Summit, the 11th China-ASEAN Summit, the third East Asia summit, and the eighth meeting of leaders of China, Japan and South Korea.
