Over 100 British parliament members, government officials, entrepreneurs, scholars and their Chinese counterparts attended a seminar held in the British House of Commons on Wednesday to discuss how Chinese economic development influences Britain.

Chinese Vice Commerce Minister Ma Xiuhong delivered a keynote speech, saying that China will continue to open up and comprehensively develop mutually beneficial relations with other countries.

In the past five years after its entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO), China fulfilled its commitments to the WTO on following the rules and reducing tariffs. Now, China has become one of the most open economies in the world, Ma said.

However, China, which has a large population, still needs to develop the productive forces, while foreign capital remains important to boost the economy, she said.

China will provide more opportunities for foreign investors and hopefully more British entrepreneurs will come to China to boost bilateral commercial ties, she added.

Martin Wolf, senior critics of Financial Times, made the final speech, saying that China's economy will continue its fast development with a great influence on the world.
