China's Open Policy to Foreign Press Unchanged: Wen

Premier Wen Jiabao reiterated in London on Wednesday that China's open policy to foreign media and information institutions remains unchanged.

 

He made the remarks at a press conference after his meeting with British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

 

"There have been much misunderstanding towards China's policies on foreign media. I would like to take this opportunity to clarify," he said.

 

The premier noted that the Chinese government will guarantee the freedom and rights of foreign media and information institutions. In the meantime, he expressed the hope and belief that Chinese laws are abided by.

 

Wen noted in particular that China will ensure the free flow of business, financial and economic information.
