2005 China Int'l Documentary Film Conference Opens

The 2005 China International Documentary Film conference opened Wednesday in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province.

 

The conference, hosted by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and the Guangdong provincial government, is the only state-level activity on documentary films.

 

"Women Today," the theme of the conference, has attracted participants from 46 countries with 260 works. Sixty-four films entered the final round and shared ten awards.

 

The conference also allured 26 documentary film buyers including National Geographic, Discovery, NHK, and BBC. Nearly 120 films will be traded during the conference.

 

Exhibitions of documentary films will be staged at the same time.

 

The conference will be closed on Saturday.
