Jia Meets Cambodian King

Top advisor Jia Qinglin and Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni hailed Sino-Cambodian ties and vowed to push bilateral cooperation during their meeting in Beijing Wednesday.

Jia, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), conveyed regards from President Hu Jintao to the King who is here to visit his father, former king Norodom Sihanouk.

Jia hailed China-Cambodia relations and the friendship between the two countries' leaders, saying China will enhance high-level communication and expand cooperation with Cambodia in all fields, especially in infrastructure construction and human resources training in Cambodia.

Sihamoni said that Cambodia and China share brotherly friendship. The royal family, the government and the Cambodian people appreciate China's support and help in the country's economic development and rebuilding.

He said that the loyal family and he himself will further contribute to the development of Cambodia-China relations.

Sihamoni is in Beijing to celebrate the 83rd birthday of his father, who is now living in Beijing.
