Macedonia, China Agree to Promote Further Relations

Macedonia and China agreed on Monday to promote further relations and expand economic cooperation.

Macedonia adheres firmly to the one-China policy and wants to promote cooperation with China in all fields, Macedonian President Branko Crvenkovski told visiting Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing.

Macedonia's diplomacy has laid a strong emphasis on the development of relations with China, deeply valued by both governments and peoples, said Crvenkovski.

Macedonian Prime Minister Vlado Buckovski told Li that his country welcomes Chinese tourists and is glad to see more investment by Chinese firms.

Li expressed his appreciation for Macedonia's adherence to the one-China policy and said China is ready to promote further and more comprehensive relations with the Balkan country.

Li also told his hosts that the two countries should promote further communications between youths.

Li arrived in Skopje Sunday for a two-day visit. He is on the fifth leg of his European tour which has brought him to Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Serbia-Montenegro.
