Cheng Siwei, vice chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, met with a delegation from the Communist Party of Peru (Red Fatherland), in Beijing Tuesday.
The delegation led by the party's General Secretary Alberto Moreno is at the invitation of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.
Cheng spoke highly of the sound relationship between China and the Latin American nations, citing the fast-growing economic ties and frequent high-level exchanges.
China and Latin American nations enjoy complementarity in their economies and potential economic cooperation, said Cheng, hoping for closer cooperation in politics, trade and international affairs.
