Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono arrived in Beijing Wednesday afternoon, starting a four-day state visit as guest of President Hu Jintao.
During his stay in Beijing, Susilo will hold talks with Hu and meet with Premier Wen Jiabao, according to diplomatic sources.
A series of agreements on economic, trade and cultural cooperation were expected to be signed after the two presidents' meeting on Thursday.
Besides Beijing, Susilo, who was accompanied by a 100-member delegation, will also visit Shenzhen in south China's Guangdong Province.
China and Indonesia agreed to forge a strategic cooperative partnership during Hu's visit to Indonesia last April.
Hu raised a seven-point proposal while meeting Susilo in Jakarta, vowing to strengthen strategic consultation, expand economic and trade ties and promote cooperation in culture, education, sports and tourism.
