Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan and his Zambian counterpart Wamundila Muliokela in Beijing Thursday agreed to further expand the exchanges and cooperation between the two countries' armed forces.
In his talks with Muliokela, Cao said people of China and Zambia enjoy traditional friendship and always support each other. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties, the two countries have conducted fruitful cooperation in politics, economy, culture and other fields.
Cao said the Chinese armed forces treasure their traditional friendship with Zambian army, and are ready to enhance the friendly cooperation between the two armed forces in various fields.
Cao also expressed appreciation for Zambian government's adherence to the one-China policy and its support for China in international affairs such as the human rights issue.
Muliokela, who started China tour last Saturday as guest of Cao, said the friendly cooperative ties between the two armed forces have been consolidated and strengthened in recent years.
The Zambian army attaches great importance to its relations with the Chinese armed forces, and will continue to promote their exchanges in diversified fields, he said.
Before the talks, Cao held a welcome ceremony for Muliokela's China visit.
