The defense ministries of China and Thailand held their fourth consultation on defense and security in Beijing Monday.
Xiong Guangkai, deputy chief of General Staff of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), and Oud Buangbon, permanent secretary for defense of Thailand, presided over the consultation.
The two sides exchanged views on international and regional security situation, the defense policies of the two countries, their army building, Sino-Thai relations and other issues of common interests.
The establishment and successful operation of the Sino-Thai annual defense and security consultation mechanism indicates the continuous enhancement of the two countries' cooperation in defense and security, Xiong said.
China is willing to work with Thailand to contribute to safeguarding regional security and stability.
Oud Buangbon said Thailand highly values the friendly cooperation of the two countries and two armies. He reiterated Thai government's adherence to the one-China policy.
