Bangladeshi Prime Minister Khaleda Zia met in Dhaka Thursday with visiting Vice Foreign Minister Wu Dawei and the two sides expressed hopes to further friendly bilateral relations and cooperation.
The prime minister said that the establishment of comprehensive partnership of cooperation between the two countries during Premier Wen Jiabao's visit to Bangladesh in April, is of great significance to the development of bilateral relations in the new age.
Khaleda Zia expressed expectation to visit China this year, which marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
She also reiterated that Bangladesh adheres to the one-China policy.
Wu said Bangladesh is China's friendly neighbor and China would like to promote the Sino-Bangladesh relationship based on equality and mutual benefit.
Earlier, Wu and Bangladesh Acting Foreign Secretary M Khairuzzaman held the 7th round Sino-Bangladesh diplomatic consultation. The two sides exchanged views on developing comprehensive partnership of cooperation and international issues of common concern.
Wu led a six-member delegation and paid a two-day visit here from Tuesday.
