Visiting Jamaican Prime Minister Percival Patterson in Shanghai Thursday called on developing countries to work together to achieve prosperity and eradicate poverty.
He made the remark in a keynote speech at China-Jamaica Business Forum opened in Shanghai.
Patterson began his formal visit to China right after concluding the G77 and China meeting in Doha for which Jamaica is Chair. He said the major topics during Doha meeting is about South-South cooperation.
He said both Chinese and Jamaican leaders expressed strong willingness to enhance South-South relations.
Patterson said he has signed agreements with China concerning trade, education, communication and other fields upon his visit, and these documents will further promote the relations between the two countries, and will also become the gateway for China to enter the Caribbean area.
Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng met with him today.
Patterson arrived in Shanghai from Xi'an on Wednesday night, and Shanghai is the third leg of his China tour. Prior to Shanghai, he has visited Beijing and Xi'an.
