Vice Premier Meets Belgian Guests

Vice Premier Wu Yi Tuesday called for Belgian business people to join hands with their Chinese counterparts in promoting economic and trade ties between the two countries.

In a meeting with a delegation of Belgian business people, who accompanied Belgian King Albert II on his China trip, Wu said that China attaches importance to its economic and trade relations with Belgium, and appreciates the active efforts Belgium has made in making investment in China.

After its entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO), China has consciously implemented its promise and kept improving its codes relating to its external economic activities, Wu said.

She added that China will open wider still to the outside world, which will in turn provide more opportunities for foreign business to expand the Chinese market.

Jean-Claude Daoust, head of the delegation and president of the Federation of Enterprises in Belgium, said Belgian businesses and enterprises values the Chinese market, and will further enhance their exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese side.
