China, Belarus Pledge Further Relations

China is ready to work with Belarus to promote bilateral relations "in a stable and healthy manner," said Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing in Beijing Wednesday.

China appreciates Belarus' adherence to one-China policy and its support for China's stance on Taiwan issue, said Li in talks with the visiting Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergei Martynov.

The Chinese foreign minister also stressed the fast-growing relations between China and Belarus since the two countries forged diplomatic relations 13 years ago.

Martynov said bilateral relations have maintained good momentum, which is in the interests of the peoples of the two countries. Belarus will continue to follow one-China policy and support China's efforts in addressing Taiwan question, Martynov said.

Martynov said Belarus will keep increasing mutual understanding and expand mutually beneficiary cooperation with China in economy, trade and technology.
