Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan said on Wednesday that China hopes to further promote friendly cooperation with the Republic of the Congo.
Zeng made the remarks when he arrived in Brazzaville for a visit to the African country.
He said bilateral relations have seen smooth development since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and he hoped "the visit will help enhance understanding, consolidate friendship and develop new ways of cooperation in economic and trade fields."
"Yesterday (Tuesday) happened to be the 41st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Republic of the Congo and this gives a special significance to the visit," said Zeng.
China is willing to strengthen cooperation with the Republic of the Congo in areas of agriculture, industry, infrastructure and energy, the Chinese vice premier said.
Zeng was accorded a warm welcome by Congolese Prime Minister Isidore Mvouba and other senior officials.
