Guo Chongli, China's ambassador to Kenya, on Thursday handed over the US$100,000 donation to Kenyan Minister of State for Special Programs Njenga Karumein support of its disaster relief efforts in Nairobi.
Guo said the donation indicates the care and friendship that Chinese people cherish toward the Kenyan people.
He added that apart from the donation in cash, the Chinese government has decided to donate some relief goods to Kenya in the nearest future.
Karume thanked the Chinese government for the generous donation.
Kenya was affected recently by the tsunami disaster and since July last year, some parts of the east African country have been suffering from drought.
