The World Food Program (WFP) has praised China's endeavors in helping reduce the number of hungry people around the world.
The executive director of the World Food Program, James Morris, has praised China's endeavors in helping reduce the number of hungry people around the world.
Morris says that in the past 25 years, the Chinese government has contributed a great deal of food and funding to the WFP and has successfully pulled hundreds of millions of poor people out of poverty and hunger.
He noted that the number of Chinese people in absolute poverty has decreased by 20 million and said it is a miracle that China houses 20 percent of the world's total population using just two percent of the arable land, or farmland suitable for cultivation.
Morris noted that China's growing economy is stimulating and encouraging the world's development.
