Chinese Vice Premier Huang Ju met with visiting British deputy Prime Minister John Prescott Wednesday in Beijing.
Huan Ju says the two sides should promote the comprehensive strategic partnership on the basis of common understanding and seek new methods and fields of cooperation.
Prescott says bilateral ties have developed rapidly, since the British Labor party came to power in 1997.
Prescott reiterated that Britain adheres to the one-China policy and will work to promote Sino-EU relations.
