Wang Zhongyu, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met in Beijing Monday with a Finnish parliament delegation headed by Speaker Paavo Tapio Lipponen.
During the meeting, Wang said China and Finland have kept frequent high-level exchanges in recent years. "The two countries have also consolidated political mutual trust and made remarkable progress in economic and trade cooperation," he said
CPPCC, China's top political advisory body, also enjoys a good relationship with the Finnish parliament, Wang said, adding that the CPPCC will continue to enhance exchanges and cooperation with the Finnish parliament and people from all walks of life in Finland.
The Finnish delegation is paying an official goodwill visit to China at the invitation of Wu Bangguo, chairman of China's National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee.
