The Indonesian police confirmed Wednesday it had arrested four men implicated with the car bomb attack outside the Australian Embassy in Jakarta on Sept. 9 that killed 10 people, including the bomber.
Iwan Darmawan alias Rois, who police believe has involved in plotting the attack, is among the four, National Police Chief Da'i Bachtiar told reporters at the police headquarters here.
Rois is also wanted for major role in the October 2002 Bali bombing that killed over 200 people and the Marriot Hotel bombing last August that killed 12 people.
Bachtiar said the four were nabbed in the town of Bogor, south of Jakarta on Nov. 5.
When arrested, they wore belted bags loaded with explosives at their waists ready for suicide attacks in case of police raid, Bachtiar said.
Besides Rois, the other three are identified as Hasan, Apuy and Sogir alias Abu Fattah.
"Sogir is a new suspect who is not in our wanted list," Bachtiar said, adding that Sogir involved in the bomb making used to attack the Australian Embassy.
