China is willing to cooperate with Canada closely to push forward China-Canada full cooperative partnership, said Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan in Beijing Tuesday.
Zeng made the remark when he met with visiting former Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien.
He said China and Canada forged frequent high-level exchanges since the two countries established diplomatic relations, and a good momentum has been maintained for the bilateral ties.
Zeng noted that economies of China and Canada complement with each other well and have huge potential and broad prospect in cooperation in fields of Agriculture, forestry, energy, transportation, education, communication and environmental protection.
He also spoke highly of Chretien's efforts to promote China-Canada friendly ties, especially in fields of bilateral economic, trade and investment cooperation.
Chretien's China visit is at the invitation of Chinese financial giant CITIC group.
