Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing held phone conversations with his Argentine counterpart Rafael Bielsa and his Brazilian counterpart Celso Amorim Wednesday evening, exchanging views on cooperation in the fields of politics, economy and trade, and science and technology, according to the Foreign Ministry.

Bielsa and Amorim told Li that Argentina and Brazil attach great importance to Chinese President Hu Jintao's upcoming state visits to the two countries, and they believe the visits will certainly score positive results.

China's Foreign Ministry announced on Oct. 26 that Hu will pay state visits to Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Cuba from Nov. 11 to 23, at the invitation of Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula Da Silva, Argentine President Nestor Kirchner, Chilean President Ricardo Lagos Escobar, and Fidel Castro Ruz, president of Cuban Council of State and Council of Ministers.

The president will also attend the 12th informal leadership meeting of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) which will be held in Santiago, capital of Chile, between Nov. 20 and 21.
