Lu Yongxiang, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, said in Beijing Wednesday that the friendly cooperation between China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) helps promote world peace.
"Promoting China-DPRK friendly cooperation is significant in maintaining peace and stability in the Korean peninsular, the northeast Asia as well as the world," said Lu.
Lu made the remark in a meeting with a delegation from DPRK's association for cultural communication with foreign countries, led by the committee's acting chairman Mun Jae Chol.
Mun said the DPRK association is willing to improve exchanges and boost cooperation with the Chinese side.
The DPRK delegation was in China at the invitation of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. The delegation will also visit China's Jilin and Liaoning provinces which are neighboring the DPRK.
