China is very concerned about reports of uranium enrichment and plutonium separation experiments in South Korea, according to the Chinese representative to the IAEA.

Chinese representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency Zhang Huazhu made the remark at the agency's board meeting in Vienna on Friday.

He said China has examined the report by the IAEA investigators and the reaction from South Korea over the issue.

Zhang said safeguarding the non-proliferation system is a common task for the international community.

He urges South Korea to continue its cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog and resolve the issue promptly and transparently.

He also pledges that China will support a full investigation by the IAEA and looks forward to a further report by its director, Mohamed EI Baradei.
