China and Guinea-Bissau should work together to expand their bilateral exchanges and cooperation, said Chinese Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan in Beijing Monday.
Meeting with defense minister Daniel Gomes of Guinea-Bissau, Cao said that the two countries have enjoyed traditional friendship and witnessed good cooperation in politics, economy and culture over the past decades.
China appreciates Guinea-Bissau for its adherence to the one-China policy and will continue to enhance its cooperation with Guinea-Bissau, said Cao, also vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission.
Gomes said Guinea-Bissau highly values the assistance from China and the two countries' good relationship.
He said Guinea-Bissau will continue to uphold the one-China policy and support the reunification cause of China.
The Guinea-Bissau guests arrived in Beijing Sunday at the invitation of Cao for a five-day formal good-will visit.
