The visiting Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf in Islamabad Monday resolved to further enhance the relationship between two neighboring countries, the official Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.
The two leaders held an exclusive meeting ahead of formal talks between the two sides, due to take place Monday evening.
They reiterated the two countries' common commitment to fighting terrorism in the interests of sustainable socio-economic development of the region.
Musharraf welcomed the Afghan leader to Pakistan and expressed the hope that his interaction with the host leadership would be helpful in further broadening the bilateral ties.
He assured Karzai of Pakistan's continued cooperation in the reconstruction of Afghanistan.
Later, the two presidents led their respective sides at formal talks, the APP said.
As a part of the on-going high-level consultations between the two countries, Afghan President Hamid Karzai arrived in Islamabad on Monday on two-day official visit to Pakistan.
