A permanent Sino-Mexican Committee has been established in Beijing.
Last December, Mexican President Vicente Fox and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao agreed to set up the organization in order to promote bilateral cooperation.
At the ceremony, Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing said he hopes the committee will operate well with mutual efforts.
Mexican Foreign Minister, Luis Ernesto Derbez Bautista, said China and Mexico are not rivals, but partners. He added that both sides should try to improve their strategic cooperative relationship.
