China's ambassador to the North Korean nuclear standoff has had talks with South Korean officials to fine-tune positions on resuming six-way talks to resolve nuclear issue in the Korean Peninsula.
Ning Fukui, who leads China's working-level delegation to the talks, met with South Korean counterpart Cho Tae-yong to hammer out an agenda for meetings to prepare for a fourth round of senior-level talks in September.
The Chinese official's visit comes after the US point man on North Korea, Joseph DeTrani, left Beijing last week without announcing a date for the working group session.
Top US officials have urged North Korea to emulate Libya to destroy its nuclear arms, but Pyongyang refused.
