Zeng Qinghong Calls for More Care for Minors

Chinese Vice-President Zeng Qinghong attended the premiere of a charity show for children on Monday night, calling for more care for the country's millions of minors.

The vice-president watched a musical play "Shangri-La" at the China Children's Theater, where a national program on the mental and physical health of minors was launched on the eve of the International Children's Day, which falls on June 1.

Zeng said the Chinese leadership attaches great importance to the well-being of the younger generation, and the Communist Party and the State Council, or the central government, made public a package of unprecedented proposals on creating a sound and better environment for its 367 million youngsters under 18 to grow up well, an environment free of drugs and pornographic and other harmful things.
