The Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) government has achieved a notable success in the practice of China's principle of "Macao people governing Macao" in its four years of administration, said Vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Ma Man Kei.
Ma, who is also the chairman of the Macao Chamber of Commerce, on Friday delivered a key-note speech at the chamber's cocktail party to mark the fourth anniversary of the establishment of the Macao SAR, which will be marked on Saturday.
"The SAR government led by Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah has been broadly acclaimed for its ability of seizing opportunities for development," said Ma.
He believed that Macao deserves a rosy prospect with the works done by the SAR government and a support by the Chinese central government.
"The SAR government has proved its ability of independent governing and the vitality of China's principle of 'one country, two systems'," Ma said.
