Wu Yi Urges Improved Supervision by Industry, Commerce Administration

Vice Premier Wu Yi Wednesday urged industry and commerce administrations at all levels to further improve supervision with modern, scientific and standard methods.

During a meeting on regulating market order and promoting the credit of enterprises, Wu called on the administrations to help upgrade the credit of enterprises and maintain sound market order to make a big contribution to national economic development.

She praised the administrations for creating a good market condition for the country's economic growth since the beginning of the year, with efforts in the fight against SARS on the one hand, and the promotion of economic expansion on the other hand.

Wu also called on the industrial and commercial enterprises to introduce incentive mechanisms and information technology to upgrade their performance.

Wu stressed that improving market order is of significant importance for the sustained development of the national economy, and she called for great efforts to crack down on production of fake and shoddy goods, infringement of trademarks, deceitful advertisements, and other illegal economic activities.
