A 21-year-old man convicted of killing his parents was executed in Beijing Tuesday after being convicted by the Beijing No. 1 Intermediate People's Court.
Zhuang Chunsheng, who worked at a Beijing restaurant upon his graduation from a vocational school of tourism in the national capital, murdered his parents on June 14, last year allegedly for refusing to allow his girlfriend to share their residence.
Zhuang Chunsheng met his girlfriend, Xiao Ling, while doing an internship at a hotel in Beijing and fell in love with her.
The young man asked his parents twice to allow Xiao Ling to live in their home, but they rejected. The parents refused on the basis that both their son and Xiao Ling, who was not a registered permanent resident of Beijing, were too young and they should devoted more of their energy in their work and study.
When his request was denied the second time on the afternoon of June 14, 2002, the furious Zhuang Chunsheng killed his own 46-year-old mother and stabbed his 47-year-old father to death consecutively.
Afterwards, he fled the scene and stayed with his girlfriend Xiao Ling for two days. He then reported the case to the police, claiming to be innocent.
The police saw through the nervous Zhuang and brought him to justice.
