City to Punish School for Covering up Mass Food Poisoning Outbreak
Health authorities of Fuzhou, capital of eastern China's Fujian province, said on Wednesday they will punish a local private vocational school that tried to cover up a food poisoning case in accordance with the law.

From the early in the morning to evening of May 26, 36 students in the Fuzhou Electromechanical Vocational School showed food poisoning symptoms of vomiting, headache and dizziness.

The school did not report the poisoning case to local health authorities as required by law.

Local residents reported the case Monday afternoon and city health officials entered the school for investigation.

All the victims were sent to hospital. So far 11 students have left the hospital while the other 25 remain for observation.
