Beijing Takes Measures to Guarantee Safety of Students, Teachers
Beijing will make efforts to prevent the occurrence of relapse of SARS among the students and teachers after resumption of classes from May 22, a municipal anti-SARS official said in Beijing Tuesday.

Zhu Shanlu, deputy team leader of Beijing's joint anti-SARS team said the municipal government will put top priority to the health and safety of students and teachers after they go back to school batch by batch and region by region in light of the situation.

To exclude the possibility of occurrence of relapse, the students will go back to school gradually instead of in a whole batch from May 22, he said.

The municipal government has made the decision to resume the normal order of schools and universities to make up the lessons the students missed, he said

Those students living in districts with dense population can continue to study through the classroom in the air and on-line program, Zhu added.
