Seven officials in Changsha, the capital of central China's Hunan Province, have been fired for poor work in preventing SARS.
Among them are the Communist Party secretary and director of the Center for Disease Control in the city.
To date, no SARS patients have been found in Changsha, and the city government is going all out to ensure the virus stays out of the city.
Inspectors say the fired officials didn't do enough in this regard.
