Hong Kong's Civil Service Maintains High Level of Conduct, Discipline
The government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) is determined to uphold the highest standard of conduct and integrity in the civil service, and take appropriate disciplinary action against officers who have misconduct.

A spokesman for the Civil Service Bureau made the remarks Tuesday following the release of an information paper to the Legislative Council Panel on Public Service.

He said, "On the whole, civil servants are law-abiding and faithful in the discharge of their duties. The high standard of conduct and discipline in the civil service is maintained."

"With the implementation of the new disciplinary mechanism, disciplinary cases are now handled more expeditiously with greater consistency in the standard of punishment," the spokesman said.
