Heavy Jail Penalty for Drug Trafficker
A 32-year-old man was sentenced at the Court of First Instance in Hong Kong Wednesday to 20 years and eight months' imprisonment, the court said.

The court heard that following investigations, officers attached to the Narcotics Bureau intercepted a private car on Hoi Shing Road, Tsuen Wan, on June 14 this year.

Two packets of Ketamine weighting 1.72 kilograms in total, two packets of cocaine weighting 33.45 grams in total and one packet of 0.96 gram cannabis were seized inside the car.

A subsequent search on the man's home in Tin Shui Wai found five kilograms of Ketamine.

The man was arrested and later charged with two counts of trafficking in dangerous drugs. He pleaded guilty to both charges and was sentenced Wednesday.
