Li Ruihuan, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), attended a meeting Tuesday during which 200 proposals by CPPCC members were awarded for their excellency.
Twenty of the proposals recognized for their excellence had been put forward by members of China's eight non-communist parties and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce.
In addition, 37 units were also awarded for their excellent work in evaluating the proposals by members of the Ninth National Committee of the CPPCC.
According to Song Jian, a vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, by September this year, the Ninth CPPCC National Committee had received 16,255 proposals from 2,209 members, 95 percent of the total number of the members of the Ninth CPPCC National Committee.
