Tung Chee Hwa, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), will visit Mexico from Oct. 24 to 27 to attend the 2002 economic leaders meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).
According to a government spokesman Friday, the chief executive's official activities will include the CEO Summit, the leaders' meeting with APEC Business Advisory Council, the first session of the leaders' Retreat, the dinner and cultural performance hosted by President of Mexico Vicente Fox Quesada, and the leaders' Retreat and presentation of leaders' declaration.
The Hong Kong SAR, China delegation will include Henry Tang, secretary for commerce, industry and technology; Kevin Ho, director-general of trade and industry; and Joshua Law, permanent representative of the Hong Kong SAR of China to the World Trade Organization.
Tung will leave Hong Kong on Oct. 22 for San Francisco, where he will spend two days before flying to Mexico.
Henry Tang will represent Hong Kong SAR, China at the 14th Ministerial Meeting of APEC, to be held in Los Cabos, Mexico, on Oct. 23 and 24.
