Hong Kong police arrested twelve suspects in an anti-soccer-bookmaking operation codenamed "Crowbeak" ended early Monday morning.
According to a press release made public on Monday by the police, officers from Organized Crime and Triad Bureau conducted raids, started from 10.30 Sunday night, in nine locations throughout the territory.
Officers arrested a total of eight men and four women, aged between 25 and 42, and seized soccer betting slips with face value of 8.32 million Hong Kong dollars and 8,000 Hong Kong dollars in cash during the operation.
Some gambling paraphernalia including computers, television sets, mobile phones, and bank account books were also seized.
The arrested persons are still being detained for inquiries.
