Two deputies to the National People's Congress, the top legislative body in China, have been disqualified, the NPC Standing Committee said Thursday.
The two are Zhao Xuefeng of eastern Jiangsu Province and Mo Zhenhan from southern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Zhao, 59, former chairman of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Huai'an City, is suspected of having accepted bribes.
Zhao is alleged to have taken bribes worth 347,000 yuan during his term as mayor of Huaiyin and Huaiyin Party Committee secretary.
Mo, 51, former secretary of the Party Committee of the Hechi Prefecture of Guangxi Zhuang, is charged with dereliction of duty, following a serious accident in a mine in Nandan County.
