East China's Anhui Province is scheduled to hold a trade and investment fair in Hong Kong from May 14 to 17 in a bid to increase economic cooperation and exchanges between the two sides.
An official with the Anhui provincial government said here Thursday that more than 40 investment projects, mainly in the areas of laser technology, bio-pharmaceuticals, and wastewater treatment, would be announced at the 2002 Anhui (Hong Kong) Trade and Investment Fair.
The four-day fair, to be sponsored by the provincial government,was targeted at business people from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and other parts of the world, the official said.
The Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, the Hong Kong Chinese General Chamber of Commerce and several other Hong Kong organizations will assist in holding the fair.
The Anhui Provincial Department of Trade and Economic Cooperation has opened a special page at its website (http://www.ahmoftec.gov.cn) publishing information about the fair.
