HKSAR to Introduce New Flag Raising Ceremony
The Hong Kong Police Force will introduce new arrangements for the flag raising ceremony on the Golden Bauhinia Square at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center in Wan Chai with effect from April 1, a government spokesman said Thursday.

At 8 am on the first, 11th and 21st of every month, a flag raising party comprising police officers in ceremonial dress, a 10- member rifle escort team, flag raisers and the Police Band will raise the national flag and the flag of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). The Police Silver Band will play the National Anthem.

On the conclusion of the ceremony, the Police Pipe Band will conduct a music display for about 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, special arrangements will be implemented for celebrations for the anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR on July 1 and the National Day on October 1.

As for the rest of the days throughout the year, a party of five police officers in seasonal working dress will raise the flags with National Anthem played through the PA system.

Special arrangements on every Saturday and the first Sunday in every month introduced previously will be canceled from April 1.
