Bird Flu Quarantine Lifted in Inner Mongolia Village

The quarantine ended on Monday in a bird flu-hit village in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region after 21 days of isolation, local authorities said.

No new infections of bird flu have been found during the past three weeks of strict quarantine. Culling, disinfection and epidemiological studies were conducted in Wulan Village of the Morin Dawa Daur Autonomous Banner, according to the local headquarters for bird flu prevention.

The situation of the village has met the national standards for lifting the bird flu quarantine, the headquarters said.

So far, China has reported 30 outbreaks of bird flu in 11 provinces and regions, and confirmed five human cases of bird flu.
